Futuresource Photo Merchandise

Current Market Trends

The consumer ordered photo merchandise market decreased by 1.5% to €957 million across the leading six Western European countries in 2021. However, it expanded by 10.7% to €1.06 billion in 2022.

Decline rates varied significantly by country and by product in 2021, although photo calendars were the fastest declining category by value. Conversely, the photo cards and photo gifts category was the only area that registered overall value growth.

The top-three producers, by end-customer sales value, captured 34% of the market, with CeWe replacing the Photobox Group (now without Moonpig and Greetz) as the leading producer.

The market outlook is positive, with consumers renewing their photo library content, and elevating demand for all product categories. By 2026, revenues across the six European countries combined will reach €1.272 billion, up 31% from 2020, a CAGR of +4.6% from 2020 to 2026.
