Futuresource’s Global Video Entertainment Market report provides a high level overview of the current state of the video environment, assessing macro trends over recent years and what these indicate for the future.

Globally, spend on Pay-TV subscriptions still dwarfs the packaged and digital home video markets and is demonstrating continued growth. Within home video, packaged media is still highly important. However, for the first time, in 2016 digital video expenditure globally will be greater than that on packaged video, with SVoD expected to continue to drive this forward, as key players emerge on a global scale.
