The German video entertainment market continues to achieve growth with total revenues forecast to expand by 5% during 2016 to €7.4 billion. The outlook for the remainder of the decade is for a further modest growth in overall consumer spend as the market migrates to digital.
Germany remains the largest packaged home video market in Europe and physical sales are forecast to represent 70% of home video revenues this year. However the continued growth of Amazon Prime Video and Netflix will be catalysts in the transition to online delivery during the next few years. By 2020 digital sales are forecast to account for 63% of total home video revenue.
