Spain’s Video Market grew 11% in 2016 reaching €2.6bn primarily due to a revitalised pay-TV market. However, 2016 was a challenging year for the home video sector, with reducing retailer support for packaged video resulting in one of the highest rates of year-on-year declines to date. In addition, reduced content availability limited the uptake of digital services. However, 2017 is set to pick up pace in Home Video, as packaged video eases its decline and digital increases in significance, motivated by new players, telco’s increased support and further uptake of SVoD services.

This report reviews the overall video entertainment market in Spain, assessing the impactors and drivers as the sector transitions to digital.
