What the Collaboration Team Expects to see at UC Expo

The UK’s most prominent enterprise IT event of the year is coming to London. Beginning on the 12th of October, UC EXPO is set to bring IT and UC tech together under one roof to help organisations make smarter and faster business decisions, together. The collaboration team at Futuresource is very much looking forward to attending this highly anticipated event.

What can we Expect from the Show this Year?

As Europe’s preeminent Unified Communications event, vendors and customers will be looking to explore how the new hybrid work model is functioning, and how it will continue to develop in the coming years.

With software platforms having taken the lead in collaboration, and UC platforms now an absolute ‘must-have’ in technology stacks, hardware players will be keeping a close eye on future trends to be revealed during the show.

At the same time, UC&C is becoming increasingly competitive. As key players Microsoft Teams and Zoom continue to dominate the market, UC&C platform providers will need to present additional collaboration options to stand out from the crowd, such as virtual white-boarding and the integration of customer service options. Most are also looking to include front-line workers in UC&C platforms, requiring a further extension of UC&C functionality into mobile devices.

In terms of video conferencing, the battle continues for vendors to provide a seamless solution for remote collaboration.  Whilst remote communication issues have largely been resolved due to technological advancement and added functions, there is still work to be done when it comes to enabling effective collaboration over multiple devices and locations.
