The wireless speaker category unsurprisingly performed worse than the soundbar market, declining at a rate of 9.5%, with soundbars declining at a lower rate of 3%. The continuous heavy decline in the Wi-Fi speaker segment strongly accounts for this wider category decline we see within the wireless speaker market.
Wi-Fi speaker shipments declined at a heavy rate in sharp contrast to the Bluetooth speaker market, which grew. This was mainly accounted for by market leaders JBL growing year on year in unit shipments in the Bluetooth speaker market. This heavy growth offsets the overall wireless speaker number as Wi-Fi fared much worse performance.
