Mexico witnessed another strong year of growth, with total video spend up 17% in 2022 to break the 100 billion peso mark for the first time, despite the escalating cost of living crisis which was expected to dampen spending. A strong consumer appetite for content and continued expansion of new services has helped drive the market and provides an optimistic outlook particularly for SVoD. The revival of the box office is underway, with strong growth witnessed in 2022 and the Pay-TV sector remains robust but is expected to be overtaken by SVoD in terms of spend in 2023. Transactional digital video has continued to face challenges but is expected to see a return to growth in 2023.
